Volume Auto Transport for Dealerships
Dealer auto transport starts at $630 per vehicle with volume discounts of 5-15% for dealerships shipping 5+ vehicles per month. Bold Auto Transport handles auction pickups, lot-to-lot transfers, customer deliveries, and trade-in shuffles nationwide. Every unit ships with full coverage insurance and a $0 deductible, and dealers who ship regularly get volume pricing that drops your per-vehicle cost significantly. What volume discounts do dealers qualify for on Bold transport?
How Dealer Auto Transport Works
Running a dealership means moving cars. A lot of them. Trade-ins that need to go to your other lot across town. Auction wins from Manheim or Copart that need to get to your showroom floor. An online buyer in another state waiting for delivery. Every day those vehicles sit in the wrong place, you are losing money.
Bold Auto Transport works with dealerships as a long-term shipping partner, not a one-off transaction. Here is how it works:
- Set up your dealer account -- Call us at (469) 942-5444 or request a quote online. We assign a dedicated account manager who learns your operation and handles all your shipments.
- Submit transport requests -- Send your account manager the vehicle details (year, make, model, VIN), pickup location, and delivery destination. One car or a batch. Auction, lot, or customer address.
- We dispatch and coordinate -- Your account manager dispatches a carrier, handles gate passes for auction pickups, and manages all documentation. Dealer accounts get priority dispatch for faster pickup times.
- Track and receive -- Real-time shipment tracking keeps you updated. The carrier delivers to your lot or your customer's door. Condition reports are completed at pickup and delivery.
We handle single-vehicle shipments for one-off needs and multi-car loads for larger inventory moves. Both open carrier and enclosed transport are available depending on the vehicle.
Dealer Transport Pricing
Dealer rates start at the same base pricing as consumer shipments. The more you ship, the more you save. Here is the volume discount structure:
| Monthly Volume | Discount | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| 1-4 vehicles/month | Standard rates | Per-shipment |
| 5-10 vehicles/month | 5-10% volume discount | Invoice (Net 15/30) |
| 10-25 vehicles/month | 10-15% volume discount | Invoice (Net 15/30) |
| 25+ vehicles/month | Custom fleet pricing | Custom terms |
Base rates before volume discounts:
| Distance | Average Cost | Cost Per Mile |
|---|---|---|
| Under 500 miles | $630 | ~$1.26/mi |
| 500-2,500 miles | $1,135 | ~$0.76/mi |
| Over 2,500 miles | $1,350 | ~$0.54/mi |
Auction-to-dealer routes are some of the most competitive lanes in the industry. Carriers run these corridors constantly, which means more availability and better rates. A Manheim Dallas to your lot 200 miles away, for example, will price at the low end of the range because carriers are already heading that direction. Use our shipping cost calculator to get a quick estimate, or call (469) 942-5444 for dealer-specific pricing.
What Custom Fleet Pricing Actually Looks Like
At 25+ vehicles per month, dealers move into custom fleet pricing — typically a 5–12% discount off standard per-load rates depending on lane density, pickup-cluster geography, and deadhead exposure. The SLA includes Net 15 invoicing, monthly volume reports, a named dispatch coordinator, and priority gate-pass handling at all three major auction networks. Dealers running 50+/month also unlock retainer-style monthly minimums with bulk-rate guarantees, so high-frequency lanes (auction-hub-to-metro corridors, regional dealer-group transfers) lock in a predictable per-unit cost regardless of seasonal carrier-supply swings.
Dedicated Account Manager Response Times
At 25+ vehicles per month, dealers get a dedicated account manager with a 1-hour response SLA during business hours (8 AM–6 PM CT, Monday–Friday) and a 4-hour SLA for after-hours and weekend tickets. The AM handles claims escalation, bulk re-routing, multi-vehicle consolidation, and direct dispatcher introductions for time-critical pickups. Below the 25/month threshold, dealers route through standard customer-success channels — still fast, with a typical 30-minute response — but without the named-AM continuity or after-hours escalation path.
Real-Time Vehicle Tracking for Dealer Loads
Dealer accounts receive a per-vehicle tracking link issued automatically at pickup. Three triggers refresh the status: pickup BOL signature, daily location ping, and delivery confirmation. Operationally, each load lives at a per-VIN status URL (e.g., track.boldautotransport.com/[order-id]) showing pickup timestamp, current carrier ETA, and pickup-condition photos. For high-volume accounts (25+/month), Bold provisions a bulk dashboard that lists every active load in one view and exports to CSV for floor-plan finance reconciliation.
Carrier ETAs are derived from carrier ELD GPS data (the DOT-required electronic logging device on every commercial truck) plus manual coordinator updates — typical accuracy is ±4 hours. To be honest about what this is: it is not a live consumer-grade GPS map (most carriers will not share that feed), it is verified position pings tied to the ELD and coordinator workflow. That is still better than competitors who advertise "GPS tracking" but only refresh once per day.
Dealers can request a custom dashboard view (e.g., grouped by source auction, by destination zone, or by floor-plan lender) — your account manager configures this during onboarding.
Multi-Auction Dealer Consolidation Case Studies
Two real-world dealer flows illustrate how Bold consolidates multi-auction sourcing into fewer loads, with measurable per-vehicle savings and fewer admin hours.
Case Study 1: 5-Store Texas Group Sourcing Across Manheim + IAA
A Dallas-based 5-store dealer group sourced 22 vehicles in a single week: 14 from Manheim Dallas (clean trade-ins), 6 from IAA Lake Charles (insurance trade-ins for rebuild), and 2 from Copart Houston (Copart Member account). At standard per-load rates, the math came in at 22 × $850 = $18,700.
Bold consolidated the work into 4 round-trip 6-car carriers across 5 days, total $13,200 ($600 per vehicle — 30% savings). The hidden value sat outside the rate sheet: the same dispatch coordinator handled all 22 loads, billing collapsed to a single Net 30 invoice, and the dealer worked from one tracking dashboard view — saving roughly 6 hours of dealer-side admin per week vs. coordinating with 3 separate brokers.
Operational note: Bold pre-sequenced the loads by destination store so that store 3 (Plano) received its 6 vehicles first, clearing floor-plan financing pressure before the slower-moving rebuild inventory arrived.
Case Study 2: California-to-Florida Snowbird Franchise Reverse-Seasonal
An 8-store Lexus / Toyota franchise group rotated inventory for snowbird seasonal demand, moving 18 used SUVs and sedans from Manheim California Inland Empire to Tampa, Florida partner-stores. Standard per-load: 18 × $1,400 = $25,200.
Bold ran the work as 3 × 6-car open carriers at $5,200 each, total $15,600 ($867 per vehicle — 38% savings). The carrier deadhead from FL back to CA was filled with 14 returning snowbird-buyer cars from Florida-based independents; that profit pass-through gave the franchise an additional 5% off the original quote. Timeline: 9 days CA to FL with cluster delivery.
Floor-plan finance reconciliation completed 3 days early because every load landed inside the same 36-hour window — the dealer's cash-conversion cycle improved by 7 days vs. fragmented dispatch.
Dealer Services We Offer
Every dealership has different shipping needs. Here is what we handle:
- Auction pickups -- Direct pickup from Manheim, ADESA, Copart, and IAAI locations across the country. We handle gate passes, lot releases, and all auction-specific paperwork so your inventory gets off the lot and onto your showroom floor fast.
- Dealer-to-dealer transfers -- Moving vehicles between dealership groups, trading inventory with other dealers, or shifting stock between your own locations. Same-day dispatch available for local and regional transfers.
- Customer deliveries -- Selling to out-of-state buyers or online customers? We deliver from your lot to your customer's front door. This is a growing need as more dealers sell online and across state lines.
- Lot-to-lot rebalancing -- Got too many trucks at one location and not enough at another? We move inventory between your lots so each location has the right mix on the ground.
- Trade-in shuffles -- When a trade-in at one location needs to be at another, we move it. No need to send a driver or burn a day swapping cars between stores.
- New inventory placement -- Bringing in fresh inventory from out-of-state sellers, private purchases, or wholesale channels. We pick up wherever the vehicle is and deliver it ready for your lot.
- International dealer exports -- Bold handles the U.S. domestic leg for dealers shipping inventory cross-border or overseas: door-to-port for ocean freight when you're shipping to the UK, overland door-to-door delivery for runs into Canada, door-to-port handoff for German franchise destinations, luxury dealer pulls for UAE-bound inventory, and door-to-border handoff for Mexico-bound inventory heading to Mexican franchise partners. Same dealer pricing, same dispatch coordinator, same Net 15 invoicing as your domestic loads.
- Luxury and exotic dealer inventory -- High-end stores moving Italian, German, and British marques between lots, in from auctions, or out to retail buyers get enclosed-trailer specialists by default. Dedicated programs for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce dealer transport bring in the same vetted carriers franchise networks and private collectors use, with chain-of-custody photos at every handoff. EV-franchise dealers running Tesla CPO inventory or general EV transport for Rivian, Lucid, and Polestar trade-ins get the same dispatch handling with state-of-charge guidance built into every BOL.
Why Dealerships Work with Bold
Dealers have options for shipping cars. Here is why hundreds of dealerships use Bold as their transport partner:
- Dedicated dealer account manager -- One person who knows your operation, your lots, your preferences. No call centers. No repeating yourself every time you need a car moved. Your account manager picks up the phone and gets it done.
- Volume pricing that actually saves money -- Ship 5+ vehicles per month and your rates drop 5-15%. At 25+ vehicles per month, we build custom pricing around your specific routes and volume.
- Priority dispatch -- Time-sensitive inventory does not wait in line. Dealer accounts are flagged for priority carrier assignment, which means faster pickups on auction wins and urgent transfers.
- $0 deductible insurance on every vehicle -- Full coverage cargo insurance included at no extra charge. Every single unit. No exceptions. Most competitors either charge extra or stick you with a $250-$500 deductible per vehicle.
- Invoice billing -- Qualified dealers get Net 15 or Net 30 terms. No more processing individual credit card payments per shipment. One consolidated invoice on your schedule.
- Real-time tracking -- Know where every vehicle is at every stage. Your account manager sends proactive updates so you can plan lot operations and customer communications accordingly.

Auction Transport
Auction pickups are one of the most common dealer transport requests we handle. Whether you are buying at Manheim, ADESA, Copart, or IAAI, the process is straightforward:
- Win the vehicle, notify your account manager -- Send us the lot number, VIN, auction location, and any gate pass or release information. We can start coordinating pickup before the payment even clears.
- We handle the auction lot -- Our carrier goes directly to the auction facility. We deal with the gate requirements, lot release procedures, and any auction-specific documentation. You do not need to send anyone to the auction.
- Door-to-door delivery to your lot -- The vehicle is transported and delivered to your dealership. The driver completes a condition report at both pickup and delivery so there is a clear record of the vehicle's state throughout the process.
Auction corridors are high-volume lanes. Carriers run between major auction hubs and dealer-dense metro areas constantly, which means strong availability and competitive per-unit pricing. If you are buying 5-10+ vehicles per auction, multi-car loads bring the cost per vehicle down even further.
Copart and IAAI vehicles sometimes have special requirements -- non-running units, salvage titles, or vehicles that need winch loading. We handle all of these. Just let your account manager know the vehicle's condition when you submit the request, and we will dispatch the right carrier for the job.
Auction House Pickup for Dealers
Bold dispatches to all three of the major U.S. dealer and wholesale auction networks. Manheim is the largest dealer-only network — Manheim Express, Manheim Simulcast, and 100+ physical lots — and requires a valid dealer license to take delivery; Bold verifies your license file before pickup. Copart specializes in salvage, total-loss, and recovered-theft inventory; the Copart Member account drives the fee structure, and most lots have non-op title status (winch loadout required for roughly 60% of pickups). IAA (Insurance Auto Auctions, now part of Ritchie Bros) overlaps Copart on salvage but operates a Buyer Code system rather than Member numbers; Copart's removal-window grace is shorter — typically 3 business days vs. IAA's 5 calendar days. Each yard has its own gate-pass workflow, payment cut-off, and storage-fee escalation, and Bold dispatchers run these lanes daily and know each yard's quirks:
MSO and Title-Transfer Documentation
Bold's dispatchers handle MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) for new dealer-trade inventory and title-transfer paperwork for used inventory. Carriers carry signed dealer paperwork at pickup, and the signed bill of lading at drop-off serves as proof of delivery for floor-plan finance purposes. Title docs travel separately — either FedEx overnight or scan-and-email — never attached to the vehicle, which keeps your floor-plan lender's audit trail clean and protects against in-transit document loss. Your account manager confirms the document path before dispatch on every dealer-trade and auction-buy load.
