Camp Lejeune PCS Auto Transport — For Marines, By a Civilian Crew That Knows the Drill

Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC is home to the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), and dozens of supporting commands and Navy Corpsmen units. The bicoastal lane to Camp Pendleton is the single highest-volume Marine PCS route in the country, with thousands of Marines and families relocating each summer cycle.

Bold Auto Transport handles door-to-door CONUS shipping for Camp Lejeune families. We pick up at on-base family housing (Tarawa Terrace, Berkeley Manor, Watkins Village, Midway Park) or at off-base addresses anywhere in Jacksonville, Sneads Ferry, Hubert, Holly Ridge, or Swansboro — and deliver to the driveway of your next duty station.

Every active duty, veteran, reservist, and dependent shipment includes our military discount, $0 deductible insurance, and a single coordinator who gets that Marine Corps PCS dates aren't suggestions.

Camp Lejeune → MCAS Cherry Point (NC)~50 mi$475–$5751–2 days

The Lejeune ↔ Pendleton corridor is the heaviest USMC PCS lane in the country and runs both directions every summer. Westbound (NC → CA) tends to price 5–8% higher than eastbound because of carrier supply imbalance.

PCS Timing Strategy for Camp Lejeune

Marine Corps PCS season hits hardest late May through August, with II MEF and 2nd Marine Division families rotating in heavy volume. The Pendleton-to-Lejeune and Lejeune-to-Pendleton swaps create capacity squeeze in both directions through July.

  • 4+ weeks out: Best pricing and pickup flexibility, especially for Lejeune ↔ Pendleton or any cross-country lane during summer.
  • 2–3 weeks out: Where most Lejeune PCS shipments book. Solid availability on East Coast lanes year-round.
  • Inside 7 days: Possible on regional lanes (NC → SC, NC → VA, NC → GA). Cross-country expedites add 25–40% premium.
  • Okinawa / Iwakuni / Mainland Japan PCS: West Coast VPC at Long Beach is the standard for Pacific destinations. Schedule pickup so the vehicle arrives 5–7 business days before VPC turn-in.
  • No-cost storage at TMO: If your POV arrives at the VPC before you're cleared to depart, the VPC won't store it indefinitely. Coordinate timing carefully — your TMO/PPSO can advise on storage entitlement.

Gate Access at Camp Lejeune

You don't need a base pass to ship a vehicle with Bold — most pickups happen off-base. For on-base family housing pickups:

  • Main Gate (Holcomb Boulevard / NC-24) is the primary visitor entry, with the Pass and ID office for non-DoD ID holders.
  • Wallace Creek Gate and Piney Green Gate handle additional flow.
  • Carrier drivers without DoD credentials are typically sponsored or routed through Pass and ID. Most Bold carriers prefer off-base pickup at a commercial cross-street to avoid 30+ minute gate process per vehicle.
  • Off-base pickup zones we use most: Western Boulevard / NC-17 commercial strip, Jacksonville Walmart, Sneads Ferry, Hubert area, and the MCAS New River side near Piney Green.

For on-base pickups at Tarawa Terrace, Berkeley Manor, or Watkins Village, your coordinator handles sponsor sign-in before dispatch.

Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) Handoff for OCONUS PCS

Marines PCS-ing to Okinawa, MCAS Iwakuni, mainland Japan, or other Pacific commands ship POVs through the DoD's Vehicle Processing Center network (currently IAL). For Camp Lejeune Marines headed to the Pacific, the closest VPCs are:

  • Long Beach, CA — Okinawa, mainland Japan, Hawaii
  • Tacoma, WA — Korea, some Pacific routes
  • Baltimore, MD — secondary East Coast VPC for some routes (confirm with TMO)

What Bold handles vs. what TMO handles:

  • What TMO/VPC handles: Free POV ocean shipment from U.S. port to your overseas duty station. You drive the vehicle to the VPC and turn it in.
  • What Bold handles: The CONUS leg from Jacksonville to the West Coast VPC if you can't drive cross-country. The Lejeune → Long Beach lane runs about $1,225–$1,450.
  • Second vehicle: The DoD covers one POV. A second car (spouse's vehicle, family vehicle) goes to your CONUS storage destination via Bold — typically a parents' or relative's driveway.
  • Returning OCONUS to CONUS: When your POV lands back at a U.S. VPC, Bold picks up at the port and delivers anywhere in the lower 48. Military discount applies.

Bold's Military Discount Applies on Every Order

Every Bold shipment for active duty, veterans, reservists, National Guard, or dependents includes our military discount. No promo code needed — just mention your branch and status at booking. The discount stacks with multi-vehicle pricing.

For pricing on standard open carrier or enclosed transport, those rates apply with the military discount layered on top.

What to Expect — Pickup and Delivery

Driver calls 24 hours ahead with a 2-hour pickup window, again 30–60 minutes before arrival. Wash the vehicle. Reduce fuel to a quarter tank. Remove personal items above trunk-floor level. Have keys and photo ID ready.

Inspection in front of you — driver completes a Bill of Lading (BOL), marks pre-existing damage on the diagram, takes photos. Sign the BOL. Take your own timestamped photos as backup. The BOL is the legal record for any insurance claim, so don't skip the inspection.

At delivery, you (or designee) walk the vehicle with the driver, compare to the BOL, sign. Note any discrepancy before signing. Carrier balance is paid on delivery in cash, certified check, or money order — confirmed by your coordinator 48 hours before delivery.

Camp Lejeune Auto Transport FAQs

PCS questions we hear most often from 2nd Marine Division and II MEF families.

How much to ship a car from Camp Lejeune to Camp Pendleton?

The Lejeune → Pendleton lane runs $1,225–$1,450 with the military discount, 8–12 day transit. It's the highest-volume USMC PCS corridor in the country, so we run it constantly. Quote your specific route →

Do you pick up on base at Camp Lejeune?

Yes — most pickups happen off-base in Jacksonville, Sneads Ferry, or Hubert for speed, but on-base family housing pickups (Tarawa Terrace, Berkeley Manor) can be coordinated through the Main Gate Pass and ID office. Tell your coordinator at booking.

Can Bold ship to the Long Beach VPC for an Okinawa PCS?

Yes. Lejeune → Long Beach VPC runs $1,225–$1,450 with the military discount. Schedule pickup so your vehicle arrives at the VPC 5–7 business days before turn-in.

What if my orders change?

Tell your coordinator. We reschedule or cancel at no penalty. Marine Corps timelines move and the Bold system handles that.

Will the Marine Corps reimburse this shipment?

For PCS moves, typically yes — through your TMO. We provide invoices and BOLs formatted for reimbursement. Confirm specific entitlements with the Camp Lejeune Personal Property Shipping Office before you ship.

Can I ship a second vehicle?

Yes — and the military discount stacks with multi-vehicle pricing. The DoD only covers one POV through TMO; a second vehicle ships via Bold to a CONUS storage destination or your next duty station.
