Military Car Shipping Discount and PCS Planning

Short answer: ask Bold for the current military offer and a route-specific written estimate. The estimate should show eligibility, the exact discount or code, expiration and stacking rules, shipment price, timing assumptions, payment terms, and assigned-carrier requirements. Military status does not by itself guarantee a discount, reimbursement, base access, or penalty-free cancellation.

Confirm the Current Military Offer in Writing

Discount programs can change. Before placing an order, ask which customer categories qualify, what verification is required, whether a code is needed, when the offer expires, and whether it can be combined with another adjustment. The accepted estimate should show the discount and resulting broker fee clearly.

A website headline is not a substitute for the written order. If the offer is not shown on the estimate, ask staff to correct the document before accepting it. Never assume the same amount or rules apply to every route, vehicle, account, or future order.

How PCS Vehicle Transport Is Coordinated

  1. Verify what the orders authorize. Obtain current written guidance from the responsible transportation or finance office, including any reimbursement or VPC requirements.
  2. Provide the real shipment details. Include the vehicle, operability, exact addresses, access restrictions, requested dates, and authorized contacts.
  3. Review the estimate. Confirm included service, price, any discount, deposit, balance, cancellation terms, and estimated pickup and carrier-transit windows.
  4. Review the assigned carrier. Confirm identity, authority, equipment, contact plan, and applicable policy documents before pickup.
  5. Document condition. Keep the order, bill of lading, timestamped photos, delivery record, and payment records.

Pricing and Timing Factors

A current estimate reflects mileage, route balance, vehicle size and operability, open or enclosed equipment, pickup and delivery access, season, requested dates, and carrier availability. It may change if the facts change or if a new carrier option requires revised terms that the customer accepts in writing.

Avoid relying on undated mileage tables, historical averages, or universal dispatch times. A practical date range and accurate access details are more useful than a promise based only on the names of two installations.

Reimbursement and Changed Orders

Do not assume private auto transport is reimbursable. Entitlements vary with orders and current rules. Ask the responsible office what is authorized, which provider or facility must be used, what approval is required in advance, and which records must support a claim.

If dates or orders change, contact Bold before carrier assignment or pickup. The accepted terms and current shipment status determine any reschedule, cancellation, refund, fee, or price change. Keep any amendment in writing.

Installation and VPC Access

Installation and VPC rules may include credentials, sponsorship, appointments, vehicle requirements, inspections, receiving hours, and limits on commercial equipment. Confirm the current rules directly with the facility. If an assigned carrier cannot enter, agree on a safe and legal civilian meeting point with enough room for the equipment.

Bold coordinates only the motor-carrier service in the written order. Government processing, overseas movement, customs, storage, and destination handling are not included unless an authorized separate provider states otherwise.

Illustrative PCS Scenario

A household receives transfer orders and needs one vehicle moved between two CONUS addresses. It verifies reimbursement separately, provides exact access details and a practical date range, and asks Bold to show any current military offer on the written estimate. Before pickup, it reviews the carrier assignment and policy documents; at delivery, an authorized adult compares the vehicle with the pickup BOL. This is a hypothetical planning example, not a customer history, discount promise, or delivery guarantee.
